What Is Loan Against Mutual Funds Calculator?

Loan Against Mutual Funds Calculator is a free online tool that helps you estimate how much loan you can get by pledging your mutual fund investments, without having to redeem them. It calculates the current value of your mutual funds, applies the Loan-to-Value (LTV) ratio, and shows your eligible loan amount & monthly interest.
Whether you're looking to fund an emergency, a short-term goal, or just want liquidity without disturbing your investment portfolio, this calculator helps you understand your options in seconds.

How to Use the Loan Against Mutual Funds Calculator?

Using the calculator is simple. You’ll just need a few details about your mutual fund holdings:

Mutual Fund Name

Type the name of your mutual fund scheme: equity, debt, or hybrid. The calculator fetches the latest NAV (Net Asset Value).

Number of Units

Enter the number of units you hold in that fund nor the number of units you are planning to pledge.

Once you enter your mutual fund scheme name(s) and number of units, the calculator instantly gives you a clear picture of your borrowing potential:

NAV (Net Asset Value)

This is the previous working day’s per-unit closing price of your mutual fund. We ensure your loan estimate is as accurate as possible. NAVs are updated daily by AMCs.

LTV % (Loan-to-Value Ratio)

The LTV is the percentage of your mutual fund’s value that you can get as a loan.

  • Equity funds have an LTV of up to 45%
  • Debt funds have an LTV of 80%

The calculator automatically uses the applicable LTV based on the type of mutual fund you enter.

Total Loan Amount

The total eligible loan calculated by summing up the loan amounts from each mutual fund scheme you’ve added.

Total Value per scheme = NAV × Units

This is the current market value of your mutual fund holdings. For example, if the NAV is ₹50 and you hold 1,000 units, your total value is ₹50,000.

Eligible Amount per scheme

Based on the total value and LTV, the calculator shows how much loan you can get against your mutual fund schemes.

Continuing the above example:

₹50,000 total value × 45% LTV = ₹22,500 eligible loan amount

Monthly Interest

Interest is charged only on the amount used, and for the number days it is utilised at the rate of 10.25% p.a.

How Loan Amount changes with Investments?

The higher the value of your pledged investments, the higher your loan amount. It depends on:

Here’s a simple Example:

Scheme Type NAV Units Total Value LTV Eligible Loan
Equity Fund ₹50 1,000 ₹50,000 45% ₹22,500
Debt Fund ₹25 2,000 ₹50,000 80% ₹40,000
Monthly Interest @10.25% p.a.: ₹547 Total Eligible Loan: ₹62,500

Enjoy the flexibility to withdraw as needed, with interest applicable only on the utilised amount.

Note: During the loan tenure, the pledged mutual funds are revalued daily based on the latest available Net Asset Value (NAV). If the market value of the mutual funds falls, your eligible loan limit will be adjusted accordingly.
